I recently spent 25 nights at Eastwind in Arugam Bay, and it certainly gave me a lot to think about regarding value for money. Just a short stroll from Baby Point, this little haven combines comfort and convenience. The large, clean room featured a spacious bed and a mosquito net, which were appreciated given the tropical setting. While I initially planned to stay for four nights, I found myself extending my visit due to the welcoming staff and the tranquil atmosphere. There's a lovely garden perfect for unwinding, and a small restaurant that serves some of the best authentic food in town. Although there's no in-room breakfast service or extensive amenities like a spa, the basics are covered: free Wi-Fi, a well-maintained shared kitchen, and housekeeping ensure a comfortable stay. The friendly owner, Allan, is always available to assist with local tours and surfing lessons. While Eastwind may not be exactly luxury in the traditional sense, the genuine hospitality and strategic location provide significant value. For those seeking a serene escape without the exorbitant price tag, this spot is worth considering!
